This feature is available on both desktop and mobile and is certainly a boon for everyone looking to pour their hearts out without the fear of being judged or ridiculed.
Please note that initially this feature was available only for groups under the âParentingâ category only. However, now it has been rolled out for Facebook groups across all categories.

How to post anonymously on Facebook group via desktop / laptop?
1. Open Facebook on your desktop or laptop and select the Facebook group youâd like to post anonymously to.
2. Go to the âCompose Postâ or âWrite Somethingâ section and click on the âAnonymous Postâ option you see below.
3. Before making the post, toggle on the switch to âPost Anonymouslyâ.
4. A prompt will appear explaining how anonymous posts work. Confirm by clicking on the button âI want to post anonymouslyâ.
5. Create your post and hit âsubmitâ. Once you do and your post is live, your name will appear as âGroup memberâ if you are posting in a private Facebook group.
If youâre posting in a public Facebook group, your name will appear as âGroup participantâ.
Hereâs an example of how an anonymous post looks like in a parenting Facebook group.
How to post anonymously on a Facebook group on iPhone?
1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone. Go to the menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines and select âGroups’ to select the group where you want to post anonymously.
2. Go to the âCompose Postâ or âWrite Somethingâ section and click on the âAnonymous Postâ option you see below.
3. Toggle on the button (as shown below) to Post Anonymously and create your post.
4. Youâll get a pop-up on your screen informing you that your post will be reviewed and approved before publication.
Hit âSubmitâ to select âCancelâ if you wish to make any changes.
Important Note – Keep in mind that if you post anonymously, your name and profile picture will still be visible to the group admins, moderators, and Facebook. This would help keep the groups safe and ensure that all the posts comply with Facebookâs Community Standards.
How do I post anonymously in a Facebook group via mobile?
1. Open the Facebook app on your Android phone. Go to the menu by clicking on the three horizontal lines below and click on âGroups’ to select the Facebook group where you want to post anonymously.
2. Go to the âCompose Postâ or âWrite Somethingâ section and click on the âAnonymous Postâ option you see below.
3. Youâll get a pop-up on your screen informing you that your post will be reviewed and approved before publication. Tap âI want to post Anonymously.â

Why canât I post anonymously on Facebook group?Â
Itâs primarily because of either of these reasons:
1. Your group admin(s) have not enabled the option to publish anonymous posts.
2. The feature is unavailable in the group youâre posting.
