Polls are a great way to know the top of the mind of your group members and get your silent members to engage. ✅
To create a poll on a Facebook group, please follow the steps mentioned below.
Steps to Create a Poll on Facebook Group
1. Login to your Facebook account through a desktop/laptop
2. From the left-hand side of the news feed, select the group you’d like to create a poll in
3. Tap on ‘Write Something’ and add your poll question
4. Click ‘Add to your post’, and a list of things will appear; Select ‘Poll’
5. Go ahead and add your poll options
6. Hit ‘Post’
After the poll is posted in the group, you can edit the poll options before members start voting. Click on the three dots you see against the options and select ‘Edit’ to edit any option.
Please note that only group members and admins can participate in the poll.
How do you create a poll on a Facebook group on mobile?
1. Open the Facebook app on your mobile device
2. Tap on the three horizontal lines at the bottom, click on ‘Your groups’, and select the group you want to create a poll in
3. Tap on ‘Write Something’ and add your poll question
4. Click ‘Add to your post’, and a list of things will appear; Select ‘Poll’
5. Select ‘Poll’ and add your poll options
6. Hit ‘Post’
Why can’t I create a poll in my Facebook group?
It’s primarily because the poll option is not turned on in your Facebook group settings. As an admin, here’s how you can turn it on:
1. Go to Group Settings from the list of options given on the left
2. Under ‘Manage Discussion’ click on the pen icon against ‘post formats’
3. Toggle the button for the poll, and you’ll be able to create polls in your group
